I was at a party last night, wherein the hostess had invited a local "psychic reader" to come and give readings (for a fee). Each person desiring to be read wrote something on a slip of paper: either a question to be answered, or just your initials. The psychic would take the paper, ask who "MA" is, then proceed with the reading.
The reading consisted of him describing my "aura". Auras have many colors, and the colors mean different things. Most everyone present had "healthy" auras, but some indication of potential future problems with the lower extremities. There were a lot of people destined to have problems with their right knee. He also talked about events in a past life, lucky numbers, etc. He really made no falsifiable, specific claims.
I found the whole event rather boring. It was like watching "John Edwards", but you can't change the channel. Most of the women, however, seemed favorably impressed.
